This is our family favorite dish usually people fry buah petai with sambal chillies but we like it this way.
Ingredients
200gms fresh prawns-peeled but leave tail intact
150gms pork belly-sliced
1 big onion-sliced
1 packet buah petai-split open and soaked in water for 20 minutes
6 chilli padi-sliced
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
100ml water
1 tsp cornflour mix with 2 tsp water for thickening
3 pips garlic -chopped
Method
1.Heat up kuali with 2 tbsp oil fry garlic till fragrant.Add big onion fry for awhile.
2.Add meat and prawns fry till cooked.
3.Then add chilli padi and buah petai.
4.Add fish sauce,sugar stir fry for awhile more.Add water.
5.Lastly add cornflour solutions to thicken the sauce.
6.Serve hot with rice.

One Dish Meal
My mum loves to cook one-dish meal for us 2weeks ago my niece post my mum flower crabs rice on her facebook. This is the first time i am cooking these after asking my mum for recipes,a very easy recipe using the kuali to cook.
Flower Crab Rice
Ingredients
3 flower crabs-washed and cut into pieces
2 cups rice
2 cups water- use the same rice-cooker cup that you measure the rice
2 shallots-chopped
2 garlic-chopped
1 thumb size ginger-shred finely
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp fried shallots crisps
Seasoning sauce
2 tbsp light soya sauce
1 tbsp dark soya sauce
1 tbsp hua tiao chew(rice wine)
1 tsp chicken stock granules
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp pepper
half tsp salt
Method
1.Wash rice and drain well.
2.Mix together all the seasoning sauce.
3.Heat up kuali add oil fry garlic,shallots and ginger till fragrant and lightly browned.
4.Add rice and fry for awhile before adding the seasonings sauce.
5.Then add the flower crabs to fry for awhile then add 2 cups of water let it boil.
6.Use kuali cover to cover the kuali.Cook on medium heat till water is almost dry switch the fire till very small fire and let the rice cook completely till dry.Then switch off the fire.After 5 minutes use chopsticks to fluff up the rice.
7.Serve hot and garnish with fried shallot crisps

Pan-fried Chicken Thigh with Mango Salad
Another simple and easy recipe as well as healthy cos i pan-fried the chicken thigh without oil.Together with the mango salad yummy yummy.
Pan-fried Chicken Thigh
Ingredients3 chicken thigh- deboned
1 tbsp light soya sauce
Half tsp pepper
1 tsp sesame oil
Method
1.Marinade chicken with soya sauce,pepper and sesame oil for one hour.
2.Pan-fried chicken without oil using non-stick wok with the skin side facing down.Fried for 5minutes then turn over and fried the other side till cook through.
3.Served with mango salad.
Mango Salad
Ingredients
1 green mango-shredded
1wax apple(jambu air)-sliced finely
3 shallots-sliced finely
4 chilli padi-sliced
some coriander leaves
half rojak flower(bunga kantan)
2 tbsp Thai chilli sauce (use Kimball brand)
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp fish sauce
Method
1 Mix all the above ingredients and keep in the refrigerator for awhile before serving.

Fast and easy cooking with ready spice mixes.
Last weekend my sis-in-law and niece came over for dinner.I cook some dishes using the ready spice mixes bought from Penang.My sis bought it from a vegetable store from Air Itam market.Usually when i go back to Penang i will bring back some and kept it in the freezer.These were brought over by my niece when she go back recently.Thanks Valerie for carry the stuff. These spices are really yummy and very easy to cook.
Curry Kapitan Chicken
Ingredients
1 chicken cut into bite size pieces
1 packet coconut milk 250gms-i bought Heng Guan Brand
150ml water
1 packet curry kapitan ready spice mix
Some mint leaves for garnishing
Some fried shallots crisps
Method
1.Put chicken,water and curry kapitan spice mix in a kuali and cook on medium heat till chicken is cooked through.Stir on and off in-between.
2.Add coconut milk and bring it to boil again using low heat.
3.Lastly add some shallot crisps.
4.Serve garnish with some mint leaves.
My sis-in-law and my family enjoy eating it.

3 Dishes 1 Soup Meal
These are the 3dishes 1 soup meal that i cook for our dinner tonight.Total budget for these dishes cost approximately $18.70.I would like to share the recipes for the Braise Bittergourd with Pork Ribs.As with the rest of the recipe they are simple homecooking dishes of Fried Broccoli with King Mushrooms,Fishballs and long cabbage soup and store bought Chicken Ngoh Hiang which i used my AirFryer to fried it,it is really very crispy after frying without addding oil at all.
Ingredients

1 white bittergourd from Taiwan (bought from NTUC) cut into bite size pieces
A few black fungus (soaked in water first)
3pips garlic chopped
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp fermented red beancurds
1 tbsp hua tiao chiew
1 tsp sesame oil
300ml water
Method
1.Heat up oil in a kuali add chopped garlic fry till fragrant then add in fermented red beancurd to fry for awhile.
2.Add black fungus and porkribs to fry also.
3.Add water and braise for 10 minutes then add bittergourd.
4.Cook till porkribs are soft.Lastly add hua tiao chew and sesame oil.
5.Dish up and serve hot.
Hope you all will like these dishes which is very simple and easy to prepare.

New kitchen gadget.
Today i bought this new kitchen gadget Philips AirFryer. Able to fry food without adding oil.Bought some fries and mexican chicken to try. Really crispy and quite nice.This kitchen gadget is quite ok.Next time will try with some marinated chicken wings.

Steamed Tang Hoon Prawn
Ingredients
200 grams medium size prawns
2 small bundle tanghoon
2 pips garlic-chopped
Sauce-2 tbsp light soya sauce
2 tbsp hua tiao chiew
1 tbsp sesame oil
100 ml water
a dash of pepper
Method
1.Wash prawns snipped off eyes and feelers and made a slit at the back of the prawn remove the intestines of the prawns.
2. Rinse the tanghoon with water no need to soak the tanghoon.
3.Add 1tbsp oil to chopped garlic and microwave on high power for 2 minutes.Set aside for use later.
4.Prepare a steamer to steam the prawns.
5.Place tanghoon on a plate put prawns on top of tanghoon put fried garlic at the slit of the prawns.
6.Pour sauce over the prawns.Steam for 7 minutes.Serve hot.
